On 17 May 2008, a cleaning operation was carried out in the Forest Park “Čikat” with the participation of fire-fighters of Mali Lošinj, the forest-management company Hrvatske šume, the utilities company Vodovod i čistoća and the mountaineer society Osoršćica, as well as many volunteers. The Forest Park’s central part was cleaned, in particular, the part around the newly placed instructive panels that tell about the Forest Park’s protected plant species and its commonest types of flora. Also cleaned was the area leading to the monument of the naturalist, Ambroz Haračić, in Sunčana Uvala. When the instructive panels were erected, several smaller boards were also put in place with signs warning of the need to protect nature within the Forest Park.
