PART OF THE EDUCATIONAL TRAIL “THE WAY OF THE BEAR” OPENED AT THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF BROD NA KUPI

On 30 May 2012, the pupils of Frane Krsto Frankopan Elementary
School performed a play entitled “The Hedgehog’s House” as part
of the celebration organized to mark School Day and the Day for Biodiversity.
Public Institution Priroda took part in the celebration by opening a part
of the educational trail “The Way of the Bear” comprising six
didactic installations. These include a life-sized wooden sculpture of
a bear, a bear silhouette demonstrating the height of the animal, a display
of bear tracks, a display of the ranges of all bears in the world, a wooden
funnel for ‘collecting’ the sounds of nature, and a display of bear diets.
The trail is located within the school grounds, in an orchard of old varieties
of highland apple and pear trees. The educational trail was designed as
part of SOŽITJE, an EU project developed within the framework of the IPA
Operational Programme Slovenia-Croatia.
