LETTER FROM THE COORDINATOR OF THE EARTH HOUR 2010 CAMPAIGN

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you as the coordinator of Earth Hour
2010 in Croatia, a campaign organized worldwide by the World Wide Fund
For Nature (WWF). In essence, the campaign is all about one common symbolic
act – switching off your lights on Saturday, 27 March at 8:30 p.m. (local
time) and keeping them turned off for one hour. The common message of
Earth Hour is a warning about the unresolved issues of potentially damaging
climate change.

Individuals from around the world take part in Earth
Hour, and this year more than one billion people are expected to participate,
alongside local self-governments, non-government organizations, businesses,
state institutions and agencies, cultural institutions and many others.
Everyone wishing to participate in Earth Hour can send their own message
to the public, depending on their preferences and the issues they are
dealing with. Some may warn of insufficient energy efficiency, while others
may wish to draw attention to issues concerning energy waste, the greater
use of renewable energy sources, light pollution, etc.

I invite you all to take part in Earth Hour. How? By
sending letters of support that will help in negotiations with local authorities
and institutions for switching off lights on 27 March. Or by posting an
invitation to Earth Hour on your Web pages and displaying Earth Hour’s
logo (see enclosure). Or in any other way that you choose and we agree
upon.

Thank you being part of Earth Hour.

Yours sincerely,
Srdjan Dvornik
