POSTERS PRESENTED AT THE 5^TH CROATIAN BOTANICAL SYMPOSIUM

The first work presented in the “Applied Botany” poster session is:

    Šišić, S., Randić, M., Jurić, I., Rogić, I., Kremer, D. ENDEMIC FLORA OF RIJEKA AND THE “RIJEKA RING”: SOME ASPECTS OF THE PRACTICAL USE OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ENDEMIC PLANTS

The work provides examples of the use of specific botanical knowledge in the daily operation of PI “Priroda”, with regard to some of the more than 60 species of endemic plants that we have found in the broader Rijeka region up to date.

The second work presented in the poster session “Flora, Ecology, Vegetation and Bio-geography” is:

    Randić, M., Kremer, D. MORPHOLOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL CHARACTERISATION OF NEWLY-FOUND HYBRID CROCUS x VELEBITICUS RANDIĆ ET KREMER (C. MALYI x C. VERNUS)

The work features a newly found form of an endemic crocus, considered to be a cross between Maly’s crocus, endemic to Velebit, and the widely distributed spring crocus. We have named it the Velebit crocus, and in field trips we have observed it at several sites in the Central Velebit range.
