This irresistible youngster was captured during the carnivore monitoring project carried out in Gorski Kotar by the Public Institution Priroda in collaboration with Prof Josip Kusak, Ph.D., of the Zagreb Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Weighing only nine kilograms, the wolf-cub was too small to be fitted with a telemetry tracking collar, so it was given the name Pepi and released back into the wild. These truly delightful photos were taken by Prof Kusak before the wolf-cub was released.
