Marking Earth Day at the Information Centre for Crime Prevention in Rijeka
To mark Earth Day, Public Institution “Priroda” held a Power Point presentation on 25 April 2017 at the Information Centre for Crime Prevention in Rijeka on the topic “Snow, Ice and the Bora Wind in Nature Protection”. The event was organized by the Department of Prevention. In the presentation, recent discoveries, concerning traces of glaciation processes that took place during the ice ages (Pleistocene) in Rijeka’s mountainous hinterland, were discussed, as well as the impact of the bora wind on the distribution of the living world in this area today. The presentation, designed for the higher grades of elementary schools, was attended by the sixth graders of Dolac Elementary School. The presentation was also part of the second component of the prevention project “Healthy for an A”, relating to activities in environmental and nature protection.
