UNUSUAL CLOUDS OVER RIJEKA

On 18 April 2017, at about 7 a.m. clouds of an unusual shape could be seen over Rijeka and Rijeka Bay. The underside of the clouds could be compared in appearance to the wavy surface of the sea, turned upside down. This unusual “waviness” disappeared after a while and the clouds assumed a more regular look. The clouds even opened up a bit in places to reveal patches of blue sky. For a few minutes the sun’s rays coming through one of these “windows” in the clouds lighted up a region of the foothills of Ćićarija, overlooking Volosko. A while later it began to rain in Rijeka.
